![]() Regarding the peep height, if you make the tie ins above and below just slack enough to move, they will correct some peep rotation by moving them up and down the string (as in James Park's book on bow tuning) I am really tempted to get a Sureloc X press (if I could get it past my other half )Ĭlick to expand.Agreed, you have to get the peep within a few degrees before using the speed nock or you get exactly the effect you describe. I use a Bowmaster portable press which fits all of my bows except the Guardian (which doesn't need one) Job done,no fuss, no drama and perfect safety. We took the bow to a friends shop and paid a few quid and had use of the press and range for half an hour. I know for a fact (my friend has a tribute)) that the Bowmaster portable press will not fit this bow as he wanted his peep moved. The original post header says that the guy shoots a Tribute. ![]() He didn't think what would happen if the D loop failed!! One guy I know used to superglue his D loop in a position which would drag the peep into the "correct" position. I will stake money that after the first arrow the peep will have moved( if it is still ok you are very lucky). Thats easy just slide the peep up and down the string.īut that moves the peep rotation so you have even more trouble, plus the fact that you could break a strand (I have seen this happen).Įven if you get everything correct first time go shoot the bow and see what happens. Then you find when you draw the bow and the peep turns correctly but the HEIGHT is not correct. Look at the next senario, you manage to get your peep in the string by using string seperators or pen tops or whatever. On one of my bows I use a Genesis control peep and this works well if fitted within its adjustment range. I have seen people use one of these things and the amount of twist that is put on the string to correct out of line peep is crazy. If you use one to correct a large peep movement then you will have a problem with the speed nock "flipping" the nock of the arrow as it leaves the string. I agree that speed nocks, under certain circumstances, can help to correct small peep turn issues.
